The New Generation of Recycling and Waste Management:  Colin Bell and Jaclyn McPhadden

 

Jaclyn McPhadden, Lead Sustainability Consultant

(MBA, B.Sc, Certified Waste Auditor)


Jaclyn has recently completed her MBA at the Sauder School of
business at UBC and obtained a bachelor of science in biology from the University of Victoria.

After working for many years as a biologist on the coastal waters of BC, she decided to pursue a career as an expedition leader in the Polar regions. Her experience working in some of the most pristine, yet hostile environments in the world, led her to her a career that allowed her to collaborate her knowledge of the environment with project management and the economics of the business world. As the co-founder of Keystone Waste, Jaclyn works with businesses to improve their triple bottom line, which is the environmental, social and economic performance of a company – the true indicator of its health and success.

Jaclyn has extensive experience in project management and logistics and as a result, she leads the analysis and implementation division of Keystone. Jaclyn has audited large hotels, marinas, manufacturing plants, and institutions and her client portfolio extends across Canada. Jaclyn has established a profitable business by ensuring that her clients have the competitive edge, by integrating profitability with sustainability – all wrapped in service excellence!

 

Colin Bell, Director of Operations

(BA. Communications, Certified Waste Auditor)

Colin holds a bachelor of arts in communications from Royal Roads University and Diploma in Broadcasting Arts from Mount Royal College. He represented Canada as a member of the National Biathlon Team from 1997-2001.

After retiring from full time athletic competition he began a career in event management producing sport and entertainment events. With his experience with the sport of biathlon Colin was called upon to work extensively with the Vancouver Olympic Organizing Committee (VANOC) as a event manager at Whistler Olympic Park during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

Since joining the Keystone team in 2010 Colin has utilized his extensive project management expertise to deliver operational excellence to Keystone clients. He leads the operations side of Keystone Waste and enjoys the challenge of exceeding client expectations and providing industry leading service.
